Fanari beach is located between the watermills of Katavothres and St. Theodores Lighthouse and opposite the peninsula of Lixouri, just in front of the camping site of Argostoli. It is a narrow beach with grey sand and shallow waters, ideal for people with disabilities and families with small children.
You can relax on the unorganised beach and look at the ferry coming and going between Lixouri and Argostoli. The visitor also takes pleasure in looking the view of the island’s mountain range. As it often gets windy, Fanari is the perfect spot for surfers and kiters who would like to give it a try (remember to bring your own equipment).
There are also two more smaller coves next to the lighthouse.
You can get refreshments or snacks at Camping Argostoli located right behind the main beach. The beach is very close to Argostoli centre and one could visit it on foot! From here ot the taverna above you can enjoy magical sunsets.
