If you are a fan of the undersea’s world and you like to explore it by snorkelling and scuba diving while at the beach, then you should not miss visiting the small but interesting Ionian Aquarium and Museum. The Ionian Aquarium and Museum is located at Lixouri’s main road at the southern end of the port, just take all the way left when you are exiting the ferry. You can get to Lixouri by car or by boarding the ferry from Argostoli.
The Aquarium is an educational experience for children and adults. It offers not only a sight into the Ionian Sea’s sea bed, but also a sight into the island’s history. The visitor will be informed about both natural and cultural issues of the island’s coastline by exhibitions and documentaries.
