Fteri and Amidi beaches

There are some places that are memorable! This eastern coast of Paliki peninsula is a breathtaking sight !

Turquoise waters, amazing dramatic coastline, unique scenery, all combined create a magical environment that you should not miss while travelling to Kefalonia.

Can be visited by boat or on foot, there is no road access to it!

Regarding the road access, I will update you soon with maps and details.

I do not need to say more the photos speak for themselves.

For more information on how to access by boat visit Melissa Boat Tour

Hey Anna! I was wondering about your experience on the Fteri beach and how to get there. I am traveling to Greece mid April with my Fiancé and we haven’t decided which island to go visit. I have always been drawn to Crete and Santorini as well.

    Thank you!

Dear Aisha, all these choices are unique! You need to come back many times to discover Greece in depth!
Fteri beach is a paradise on earth, can be reached on foot or by boat, if you decide to come I can send you more details. Kefalonia is a great place!

Hi Anna, great site – many thanks. Is Fteri beach walkable with two children from the nearest road? Does it have a steep climb up / down? If so, how far? I can see it on google maps but that doesn’t show the terrain well. : ) thanks.

Thank you for your message! How old are your children, it is not an easy route, I would recommend you visited by boat.

Hi Anna! Thank you for your great site! I will go to Kefalonia with my wife and 7-y-old daughter in June and will stay 5 days.
Of course, we know Melissani Cave and Myrtos are the most famous places, but what other beaches do you suggest? Do you have any links for boat tours, for Fteri, for example? I don’t think they could do the hike! 🙁
Would you have any suggestion of ittineraries for these 5 days?
    Thank you so much!

Hi Anna! Thank you for your great site! How long does it take to walk to Fteri beach? Is it OK for kids 6-8? Is there any boat trip from Zola or around?

    • May 25, 2017 at 11:59 am — Reply

I would not recommend to go there on foot with the children, you better take a boat, but you cannot book in advance as it is a matter of weather.

Hi! I am going to Cefalonia this july, and I am interested to know is a Fteri beach good and place for camping? And how can I find the route by foot to it?

    • June 13, 2017 at 4:27 pm — Reply

Thank you for your message! Camping is not allowed freely in the island, you can only camp (legally) on the two organised camp sites, in Sami and Argostoli.
You can spend the day there and come back at night if you go on foot or renta boat for a day

I am very interested in visiting fteri beach – and would prefer to walk there, rather than take boat. Can I do it on my own?

thank you for your message! You need to get a trail map “Anavasi” you can get it from Agia Efimia or Fiscardo Chandlers and follow the footpath. Unfortunately I haven’t done it myself yet on foot so I cannot help with exact directions

Hi Anna! I’m planning my trip to Kefalonia in August and I’ve gotten so many ideas from your blog. Thank you so much! I’m renting an ATV to get around the island. To get to Fteri beach, where should I park my ATV before walking down?

    Hello Anna!
One question please. Are there any small boats which can be rented in Zola for a whole day by persons who dont have any boat licence (something similar like “Yellow boats” in AE). We’re coming in Kefalonia right at the beginning of September, will be based in Zola and would love to explore Ftery bay.

    Thank you for any information!
