1st day, Get familiarised with Sami region, visiting some of the best sights on the island. After a generous breakfast with local products and a morning swim at the villa (if you have a pool), you can head off to the underground magic world of Drogarati Cave. At the end of the tour you can either stop for horse riding or donkey trekking, visit Casa museo, to get a secret look at the past, or just scroll around Karavomilos Lake and walk by the seaside walk path to the village of Sami (just 1km). Or you can rent a bike and ride to Agia Efimia if you are moderate cycler, or explore Sami and Pylaros areas if you are an advanced cycler.
For swimming drive to Antisamos beach, where you can relax on the sunbeds by the sea and enjoy a snack, get a massage or a drink at Mojito Beach-Bar Restaurant. To get your adrenaline up, try one of the watersport activities, offered on the beach, like Jet Ski, Wakeboard / Kneeboard, Water Ski, Tubes / Sliders, Banana Boat, Crazy Sofa, S.U.P, Windsurfing, Snorkeling, Canoe, Pedal Boat.
From Antisamos beach you can take the trail to reach Koutsoupia beach, accessible only on foot or by boat, it is a 2,5h trail not suitable for children or infirm people.
On your way back from Antisamos, if you like walking you can check for the Ancient Sami trail, it offers great views of Sami port as well as you can see ruins of Ancient Sami. Another beautiful walk is the 7 water miles trail, a few km from Sami towards Argostoli.
2nd day, If you wake up early, take a scroll at Agia Efimia’s beautiful harbour to admire the sunrise and get your breakfast at Carena bar -cafe and either arrange to get a diving lesson at Agia Efimia or around 12.00 (this is the best time to of day to visit as the light comes through the open hole of the cave) head off to unique Melissani Lake for a short boat tour. If you want to avoid the mainstream way, arrange for a unique caving experience with the experts as there are many caves to discover in the area.
If you want to explore the coast, you can rent a boat for the day, from Agia Efimia, I suggest you stop in the isolated beaches on the way to the north, have a swim and explore the area, Agia Sofia and Horgota beaches. Another way to explore the coastline is by sea kayaking or canoeing. You can end up at Sea Rock ws or Amalia restaurant for a meal, overlooking the sea. Alternatively you can then spend a few hours at famous Myrtos beach (note that can be dangerous for kids when windy). There, you can paraglide over the bay, a very special experience that offers breathtaking views! Myrtos offers a great sunset, so do not miss it of you are here close at that time. If you have time left before the sunset you can drive or even better climb up to the monastery of Themata to see the lamas and admire the views of Agia Efimia bay. The walking trail departs from Agia Efimia to reach the Monastery through the beautiful old village of Tarkasata.
3d day Explore Paliki peninsula, visiting Xi beach offering an impressive grey clay rocky background and various watersports and beach bars. Here you can have a natural spa, as the grey clay, according to the ancient and modern scientists, has medicinal properties that can cure skin disorders, heal wounds, it is also used for detoxification and many other disorders and injuries. You can get a lunch and swim at the sandy, shallow and safe beaches of Lepeda, Lagadakia, Vatsa or visit the wilder beach of Petanoi beach (choose one of the two ends of the beach for more privacy and interesting coast. 4th Day This day you will explore my favorite region of Erissos. Your first destination will be Assos village and castle. There depending on the heat and time you can swim, have lunch, or a snack at Blue Cafe and when it gets cooler you can climb up to Assos castle and explore it (this is one of my favourite walks!). It is a unique experience and you can get amazing views of both the village as well as a breathtaking sunset. If you did not have enough time to visit Myrtos on day 2, this is another day that you can combine it too. If you want a romantic and relaxing finish to your day head off to Alaties beach, climb up the interesting rock formations to find the salt holes, get a last swim for the day and relax at Acqua Alaties bar-restaurant for a meal or drink with unique sunset views.
5th day On this day you will be exploring the rest of Erissos region, the northern part of the Island. On your way to Fiscardo you can stop at Picnic cafe for a great breakfast or snack and then head off to the cosmopolitan, picturesque village with a wide selection of restaurants and services, (fish spa, diving, massage or reiki and shopping). Fiscardo also offers many signposted foot paths to choose from, an easy, still beautiful choice is to walk to the lighthouse you see on the opposite side of the bay. There are many beautiful beaches nearby to choose from like Foki beach, Emblissi, or Dafnoudi beach (if you want to walk for approx 1km in a dreamy shaded path). If you haven’t rented a boat from Agia Efimia, you can do it at Fiscardo at Reginas boats to explore the nearby beaches. If you are really looking for a Unique Marine experience book this boat tour for the day or take a diving course. Fiscardo can be great for a night walk as well where you could combine it with some shopping at Liveloula or Emilia shop, Fiskardo Etc for something a bit different. If you need a supplying sailing or yacht equipment, stop to the Fiscardo Chandlers, which is located in the harbor of Fiscardo. Get a nice drink or a cold beer at The Fishbones Bar (check if they have live music too).
6th day, I suggest you spend this day around the area of the capital Argostoli. If you want to visit the religious center of Kefalonia, stop at the monastery of Saint Gerassimos. You can then enjoy some wine tasting, visit Gentilini winery, or Robolla Cooperative or get a wine tour with expert Ioulia. If you want to climb to the highest mountain of the Ionian islands, drive up or walk up to mount Ainos, protected natural park, covered with Abies cephalonica trees, or choose a jeep safari to explore it (if you are lucky you can see the wild horses). There are several walking trails to be explored here. There is another route to reach the peak from Vlachata village and get to Zoodohos Pigi Monastery. The nature there and panoramic views are breathtaking! Another option would be to drive to Saint George Castle and get lunch at Il Borgo restaurant. Once you arrive at Argostoli (select sights and shopping ideas from my tour of Argostoli), visit Katavothres (one of the strange phenomena), swim at Platis-Makris Gialos (offering a selection of watersports) and dine at one of the restaurants in Argostoli. Another educational activity that you can enjoy is visiting Dias Organic Apiary If you want to have a boat tour you have two great options, Enalios cruises with their Lady O, will take you to the close by beaches for a party and bbq on the beach or Michalis and Antonia will take you fishing with their traditional fishing boat and you will cook and enjoy what you cought on board!
7th Today you will spend some time on the north east of Kefalonia, popular Skala and peaceful Katelios or Poros. If you prefer to be in the most touristic area of the Island you choose Skala village and long sandy beach where you can try some watersports, diving courses or get a day boat trip choose one of the destinations from Captain Vangeli’s Special Tours. Nearby you can visit the Roman villa and you can walk to see the ruins of old Skala village with great sea views. You can then get a lunch or dinner at one of Skalas restaurants.

At Katelios you could visit the Katelios Group to learn about the sea turtles.
